Threat Summary: -

        An account on Instagram, which claimed that it could move and multiply funds in five minutes. The minimum amount accepted was KWD 200 (Kuwait Dinars) which is equal to 48,000/- Indian rupees, which could be turned into KWD 2500. He also offered a job that required working specific hours and opening an account on a social media website at attract persons wishing to multiply their funds and to send their phone numbers.

Modus Operandi: -

1. Online fraudsters attract people on social media through their Instagram or any other social media accounts with tempting postings like ‘we make your money 10 times within five minutes’ or ‘we could transfer your money and multiply it to any account within five minutes’ etc.
2. They mention the minimum amount you must pay and provide how much they can return to you.
3. They provide JOB OFFER with requirements of specific working hours and an account on a social media website. And the job is to attract persons on respective social media to pay money.
4. Later after receiving the desired amount from victims they either delete the account or change their security or privacy settings.

Suggestions: -

1. Please do not send amount and fall prey to fraudsters.
2. Never follow or join or accept or promote such accounts on social media.
3. If anyone identifies such posts or advertisements or accounts, immediately share it with law enforcement agencies.
